ALEXANDRA WHYTE, B.A., LL.B
Alexandra Whyte is an Articling Student at Donnelly Law. Alexandra received her LL.B from the University of Leicester, England. Her studies focused primarily on the laws of the United Kingdom and its role within the European Union. Prior to law school, Alexandra obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Justice Studies from Royal Roads University in British Columbia.
During her time at law school, Alexandra competed in the University of Leicester Senior Mooting Competition, which focused on contract law, in which Alexandra reached the semi-finals.
After completing her law degree, Alexandra moved back to Canada to complete her National Committee on Accreditation (“NCA’s”) exams, in order to qualify for the Ontario Bar. Alexandra studied Evidence Law as her elective course. Following her successful completion of the NCA’s, Alexandra moved to Virginia, USA and worked at a law-firm focusing on criminal defence, specifically white-collar crime, where she gained valuable criminal trial-preparation experience. Upon returning to Canada in May 2017, Alexandra wrote and passed the LSO Bar Admission exams.
Alexandra was raised in King City, Ontario and enjoys reading, hiking, and taking care of her animals. She loves to travel, especially when she gets to explore new cities and countries. As an avid hiker, Alexandra has currently completed roughly 50% of the Greenbelt Route in King City – working on the other 50% in her (very limited) spare time.
Finally, Alexandra played for the same rugby club as the Principal, Mr. David Donnelly (the Toronto-Aurora Barbarians), but did not disclose this fact until after receiving an offer
